Binly AKA Lancer
Binly was born in Laos on March 20, 1988. He immigrated to the United States in the later months of 1989 and settled San Diego. He has lived there for the majority of his life. His love for music, writing, skateboarding, and dancing all originate in his neighborhood where children shared a common theme of passion in creating fun out of asphalt, linoleum, skateboards, and backyards.

Southeast San Diego gave Binly a home where he learned to love the nature right in his front-yard cement steps. A home where he learned to shuffle his feet and sway his hips. Southeast gave him family; lessons to love anything that would enlighten him.
Binly took on the name Lancer early on in his breaking career. The name comes from the idea of a Freelancer – someone who executes action out of their own free will. He competes nationally and has competed internationally.
His accomplishments include:
- Solo Bboy Champion in Sweet Addiction 2007 in San Luis Potosi
- Footwork Champion at Mighty 4 San Francisco 2007
- Two-on-Two Champion at Headhunters Eight Year Anniversary in San Jose 2008
- 1st Place at UC Davis Battle at the Buzz 2009
- 1st Place at Skills to Pay the Bills 2010 in Vallejo, CA
- All Styles Champion at Town to the Boogie Down 2010 in Hayward, CA
…and other various competitions. His main crew that he dances and performs with is known as The Calamities. He hopes to compete on the international scale overseas and eventually, be the rawest and most honest dancer he can be.
Currently, Binly lives in the Bay area and attends UC Berkeley. He is a fourth year double major in Astrophysics and Physics. His minor is in Creative Writing under the focus of Poetry.
Binly recently obtained U.S. citizenship in November 2009. He loves to eat at a Berkeley restaurant called House of Curries: His favorite order is Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosa, and Alu Naan.
